Launched in 2023, the project aims to establish a regular, collaborative report providing insights into global wine tourism trends. The primary objective is to generate valuable data and analysis that will inform the wine sector and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
The OIV’s main contribution lies in the design and dissemination of a comprehensive survey, which will serve as the foundation for the report. This initiative supports strategic priority 1.5.1(c) of the OIV Strategic Plan “develop tools and information to better understand the economic aspects of the sustainability of the vine and wine sector, with a focus on: vine and wine tourism as a sustainable pathway to enterprise viability and local economic development”. This project also strengthens institutional relations, particularly with the UNWTO, with which the OIV also maintains an MoU.
Please note that this project, established as a one-year commitment, was formally approved by the OIV Steering Committee in April 2025 and does not require any financial contribution from the OIV.
We kindly invite you to take part by answering a few survey questions in the following link https://www.soscisurvey.de/winetourism2025/ . You are also welcome to share this questionnaire with relevant stakeholders
